Extension and Revocation of Data Access
Datasets hosted on the ELIXIR Luxembourg platform are made accessible for the duration specified in the Data Use Agreement. As the end of this access period approaches, specific procedures are followed to either extend or revoke access.
Extension of Data Access
Users may request an extension if they need more time to work with the data. This involves preparing an addendum to the existing Data Use Agreement. All extension requests require approval from the Data Access Committee (DAC) before the original agreement expires. If the conditions of data use remain unchanged, the review is typically straightforward. However, if new purposes or compliance changes are introduced, the DAC may conduct a more detailed review and set additional requirements.
Revocation of Access
Access to the dataset is automatically revoked upon the expiry of the Data Use Agreement. After revocation, the data user may be contacted by ELIXIR Luxembourg to provide information on all results generated from the dataset, including publications and other forms of scientific dissemination. This step ensures transparency and supports reporting obligations related to data reuse and impact.
